Founded in 2008, the Foundation is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the life and work of the engineer, architect and builder Pier Luigi Nervi. It contributes to the dissemination, promotion, and safeguarding of his rich legacy and to a critical re-evaluation of his oeuvre.
Its mission is expressed in preserving and raising awareness towards the broader spectrum of 20th century built heritage, paying particular attention to concrete as its defining material. The Foundation’s activities are articulated along four distinct and complementary lines: research, education, conservation and culture.
Research
Through academic and scientific research, the Foundation fosters renewed and wide-ranging inquiry into Pier Luigi Nervi.
Education
At various levels, the Foundation engages in educational projects aimed at disseminating knowledge and strengthening expertise.
Conservation
The Foundation is actively committed to safeguarding Nervi’s oeuvre, with the aim of raising scientific and heritage awareness on twentieth-century architecture.
Culture
Via a series of cultural initiatives, the Foundation brings Nervi’s legacy in dialogue with the present.
